My hair removal story, chapter four. After comparing and reviewing several (home) tools and treatments, including the new Calor Soft Extreme EP7530 epilator and the Remington i-Light Pro IPL device, I am now - as promised - sharing my final thoughts with you on the Nd YAG 1064 nm permanent hair removal treatment at the Antwerp based Carpe Clinic.

My first visit to the Carpe Clinic took place back in June and I've already written on how after only three weeks after the appointment I noticed certain areas on my legs where my hair was falling out and other parts where it was growing back surprisingly less thick and stubborn. I enjoyed their newest Nd YAG 1064 nm medical hair removal, a very innovative laser unique in Belgium. With a powerful 1064 nanometer wavelength (read: deeper penetration of the laser light) it is able to reach the deepest roots safely, even on tanned, dark and black skin photo types. An advanced contact cooling system guarantees extra safety and comfort for darkly pigmented skin types - I never felt a thing, not even an itch. And as they use the biggest scanner on the market right now they can remove 42 square centimeters of hair at once. In less than fifteen minutes the job is done. Every session should result in up to 20% hair reduction and Carpe Clinic advices light to medium skin photo types an average of four sessions for visible results. 

Three weeks have gone by after my last Nd YAG 1064 nm session and the days of time consuming shaving and ingrown hairs are almost over! I've noticed my hair changing into fine hairs and ultra fine hairs until now. The growing hasn't completely stopped yet but the thinning of my hairs is truly a difference in my life.

Would I recommend this treatment at Carpe? For approximately 200 euros per session this isn't exactly your biggest bargain but I do consider it worth the investment. In less than three months my legs were 70% hair free and this must be the most comfortable permanent hair removable option available; honestly I didn't feel a thing and as I've been testing the Remington i-Light Pro for IPL permanent hair removal at home I noticed how significantly less painful the Nd YAG 1064 nm felt in comparison to traditional IPL. I did love that I could use the i-Light Pro in the comfort of my own home - which makes it easier to schedule your own bathroom session in between daily chores - but I'm pretty sure you will all feel more than at ease with the super friendly Carpe staff.
