FESTIVE FEELINGS

December has arrived and with that we are fully getting into the spirit of the season. Yes, the holidays are fast-approaching and we don't want to miss out on one minute of enjoying warm holiday spirit that comes with it. Every year I try to make our home as festive as possible. This year I have stocked up on a few newbies by Alessi.

I wanted to step away from the traditional Christmas colors and invest in something that clearly compliments our interior. Cause I don't think red and green are always the hues that will work best for your home. And so I traded in the traditional christmas balls for some very unique ones by Marcello Jori for Alessi. Jori was inspired by the well known Russian Easter eggs and created the most unique collection Christmas Ornament Series. This year six pieces were added to the collection; Cuore and Cuora”, “Bianca, la Balena Buona” (“Bianca, the good whale”), “Cigno di Primavera” (“Spring Swan”), “ Il Vecchio e il Mare” (“The Old Man and the Sea”), “Re Coccinello” (“King Ladybird”) and “Palla di Fidanzamento” (“Engagement Bauble”). The colors and the tons of litlle details make them so charming and special they can have you dreaming of yet another beautiful story over and over again.

And while browsing the Alessi collection I finally caved for the Happy Eternity Baby crib in hand-decorated porcelain. It is the result of a collaboration between Marcello Jori and Massimo Giacon. The walls of the grotto are bright blue, decorated with gold-coloured stars and the Virgin Mary and Joseph are holding their baby Jesus, while the donkey and the ox are next to them.

I cannot get enough of how the festive Faberjori ornaments popping up in our living room brought this fun yet stylish Christmas cheer to our home. I think they truly upgraded our Christmas decor and added some very interesting glamour to our celebration. The crib has become the eye catching part of our lounge area and looks like a little corner for our sweet baby boy while it is actually ushering in the magic of Christmas.
