Spend less by choosing well. When it comes to building a timeless yet interesting interior, you all know my love for hunting down those unique decorating pieces at local flea markets and online auction sites. There's only a few items I'm not buying secondhand (just yet). Sofa's are one of them. Not to call myself a clean freak (at all) but I can't seem to get over the dirt and allergens that come with textiles and upholstery of a few ten years old. Especially when you don't know the previous owner and how serious they were with hygiene habits.

Unfortunately buying brand new stuff equals another price tag as bumping into affordable vintage treasures as well. As our piggy bank is still left a bit traumatized by the total costs of the construction of our house and we have a little baby boy coming to join us in a few months I guess I don't have to explain avoiding quite a few interior design brands when looking for a new addition to our living room. It was hard tempering my excitement when virtually stumbling upon Sofacompany a few months ago.

Sofacompany was launched as a Danish online furniture shop by founders Cathrine and Christian Rudolph. They believed in their dream to create beautiful and high quality furniture at honest low prices all year round. As they only sell online - and in a few of their official showrooms - they succeed in offering great quality that does not have to be expensive. Convinced by their concept and impressive range of 2-seats and 3-seats sofa's, coffee tables and chairs on their website, I headed to the brand new Sofacompany showroom in Antwerp some time ago.

With my undying love for velvet and brass still going strong decisions were easily made. The Allie chair was the one that immediately caught my eye online and when seeing it shine in real life, I fell hard. The only doubt I struggled with was going for that perfect classy shade of petrol blue or the deep dramatic plum hue. A few weeks ago I received an email by Sofacompany asking me for the ideal time of delivery as my Allie chair was finished and ready to come over to its new home. As you can tell from the pictures I went for the plum version. And how smitten I am with the result. I believe it adds such a fun and colorful vibe to our space. It truly radiates chic!
