When being asked to hop on the train to Amsterdam to meet the talented American designer Wes Gordon, I definitely do not show a second of hesitation. Wes Gordon's tribe includes famous fans like Gwynteh Paltrow, January Jones, Nicole Richie and Miranda Kerr. And his designs have even been spotted on the Kardashian sisters and Michelle Obama. Quite impressive for a 29-year-old! Almost two weeks ago I headed to my second favorite city - nothing beats Paris, I'm honest - to take a look at his collaboration with the iconic eyewear brand Silhouette and hopefully shake hands with Wes.
Well, that turned out a bit different… We caught up with Mr. Gordon
while having lunch at Hotel Droog. Delicious food, gorgeous
setting, sweetest host. We got lucky enough to chat with him about his
collaboration with Silhouette, his own collection, his love for New York, his
engagement and his super cute dog. Imagine the kindest designer you can think
of. This one, ten times. His partnership with Silhouette is a special
edition of the iconic Silhouette Titan Minimal Art frame. To me, a picture
of outstanding cool. Ok, I do have the weakest spot for eyewear and I do tend
to make up excuses to treat myself with yet another pair of sunnies but these
super lightweight shades are so fresh and cool, they make me long for Summer
even long before Christmas has arrived.
The Wes Gordon x Silhouette sunglasses will be available in selected opticians from January 2016 in green, grey, nude and ocean blue (Wes Gordon's favorite color) for €349. Every pair of shades comes from a single piece of glass with a contrast color painted with a needle.
